WebEdition offers in-place editing, so you can preview how your text will look as you edit it.
- Copy and paste text into your story.
- To avoid copying over the rich-text formatting (e.g., specific typefaces) from Word or another document, either copy from a plain-text document OR paste by using a key command to use the WebEdition type. For Windows, CTRL + T after pasting. For Mac, Command + Shift V.
- Note that you will need to add back in any boldface or italics to the type.
- You also have the option to clear formatting after you’ve pasted text. Highlight the text and then choose the three ellipses icon. Then choose the eraser icon to clear formatting.
- To format type, highlight the text and choose from the following options:
- Bold
- Italics
- Link (chain icon). *Tip: When adding links in WebEdition, ensure that it’s the full URL (e.g., including http:// or https://).
- (Choose the ellipses icon to see the option to) Add headings (H1 or H2)
- (Choose the ellipses icon to see the option to) Style a blockquote in the body of the text
- (Choose the ellipses icon to see the option to) Style a bulleted list
- (Choose the ellipses icon to see the option to) Style an ordered list
- (Choose the ellipses icon to see the option to) Clear formatting from pasted text
- To add images, media, or other styles to your story, access the options available in the footer menu of the story editor in the section Design toolbox.
Story info
To modify any details about your story, choose Story Info in the footer menu.
- You can change or add the story thumbnail (which will appear in the TOC).
- You can change or add the story summary.
- You can change or add the story’s department.
- You can change or add the story’s title.
- You can change the story’s slug (or URL).
- You can change the story’s visibility from unpublished to published or vice versa.
- You can change the story’s editorial status from Draft to Ready (indicating that the story has been reviewed but not yet published).
